Epstein’s Former Lawyer Urges Immunity Deal for Maxwell to Unlock Hidden Testimony

Alan Dershowitz, a former attorney for Jeffrey Epstein, called on the U.S. Department of Justice and Congress to offer Ghislaine Maxwell immunity in exchange for full testimony, saying she is the “Rosetta Stone” in the case. Dershowitz claims Maxwell is the “Rosetta Stone” in the case, insisting she “knows everything” about Epstein’s criminal operation, including names of high-profile individuals involved and details of how the network functioned.

Maxwell, convicted in December 2021 of sex trafficking of minors, is currently serving a 20-year sentence. Dershowitz now argues that an immunity deal could finally reveal the full scope of Epstein’s associates and activities. He contends that the recent DOJ motion to unseal grand jury transcripts is insufficient, noting that grand jury materials often exclude broader evidence like discovery documents, depositions, and sealed testimonies. According to him, only Maxwell’s direct cooperation could provide answers that the public and lawmakers have been seeking for years.

Dershowitz also argued for commuting Maxwell’s sentence, saying she is receiving punishment “in Epstein’s place,” since he died in custody in 2019. He believes Congress could gain vital information if Maxwell were granted a platform to testify openly. He reiterated that she arranged nearly every trip and engagement involving Epstein, making her a key source of information.

The DOJ and FBI recently released a memo stating they found no evidence of a formal “client list” and that no charges against uncharged third parties are planned. Pressure continues from conservative and Republican figures, like Tucker Carlson and House Speaker Mike Johnson, who argue that additional transparency is long overdue.

Maxwell’s legal team is currently appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing that Epstein’s 2007 non-prosecution agreement should have extended to her as a co-conspirator. Lower courts have already rejected this argument, and the DOJ has urged the Supreme Court to do the same, asserting the deal was limited to Epstein himself and did not apply across jurisdictions.

As the legal battle intensifies, Dershowitz’s call for immunity remains controversial. Advocates for Epstein’s victims argue that granting such a deal would undermine justice and retraumatize survivors. Nonetheless, the push reflects a growing divide between those demanding full disclosure through any means necessary and those prioritizing victim privacy and judicial integrity.

Whether Maxwell will ever testify publicly remains uncertain, but her potential cooperation could change the trajectory of one of America’s most disturbing criminal scandals.
