Two Firms Recall Kids’ Pajamas Over Burn Hazard

Two separate companies are recalling certain children’s pajama sets sold in the United States after federal regulators determined they fail to meet mandatory flammability standards for sleepwear. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued the recall notices, warning that the garments pose a risk of burn injuries to children.

The first recall involves LeymanKids-branded two-piece pajama sets, which include a long-sleeved, button-up top and matching pants. These were sold in multiple colors: white, pink, yellow, red, blue, beige, and green, and feature cartoon designs. The sets were available in sizes 24M (90), 3T (100), 4T (110), 5T (120), and 6T (130). The brand name and size are printed on the neck label.

According to the CPSC notice, consumers should immediately stop using these pajamas, cut them in half to destroy them, and send a photo of the destroyed garments to us_product_recall@aliexpress.com or reply to the recall email from AliExpress to obtain a full refund.

The second recall, filed August 7, concerns La Ligne Enfant Bonne Nuit children’s 100% cotton pajama sets. These two-piece, long-sleeved pajamas were sold in several color combinations: green with light blue trim, pink with red trim, red with white trim, light blue with red trim, navy with white trim, and white with navy trim. Each set features a pocket on the left side of the top.

The affected sizes include 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. “La Ligne,” “Mini,” and the size are printed on the neck label, while “Made in Peru” and RN number 150209 appear on the seam label.

Although no injuries have been reported for either brand, the CPSC emphasized that the garments violate flammability standards designed to protect children from serious burn risks.

“Consumers should immediately take the recalled children’s pajamas away from children, stop using them, and contact La Ligne for a full refund,” the recall notice stated. Like the LeymanKids recall, customers are instructed to cut the garments in half and dispose of them to ensure they are no longer wearable.

Both recalls serve as a reminder for parents and caregivers to remain vigilant when purchasing children’s clothing, particularly from online platforms and overseas suppliers. Safety experts warn that non-compliant sleepwear can ignite quickly if exposed to open flames or heat sources, leaving children vulnerable.

The CPSC continues to monitor compliance with U.S. product safety laws and encourages consumers to report unsafe products through its official website.
