President Donald Trump has issued an executive order establishing a White House task force to coordinate federal efforts for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The directive marks a significant step in national preparations, with federal agencies set to manage key responsibilities including security, transportation, visa processing, and athlete accreditation.

The newly formed task force will bring together cabinet-level officials and federal departments to work alongside local, state, and international partners. The LA28 Organizing Committee, chaired by Casey Wasserman, has welcomed the move, calling it an important milestone in building the infrastructure and operational capacity necessary for a successful Games.

Trump emphasized that the initiative continues his longstanding support for the Los Angeles bid, which he backed during his first term. That group oversees planning for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, the 2026 World Cup, and the 2028 Olympics.

Officials have clarified that, despite prior policies on immigration and athletic participation, Olympic athletes and international officials will be granted the necessary exemptions to enter the country. The assurance is intended to ease concerns over travel restrictions and ensure open access for all participating nations.

With the Games just three years away, federal and local agencies are under pressure to coordinate logistics on a large scale. The Los Angeles Games will be the third time the city has hosted the Olympics, following events in 1932 and 1984. This iteration is expected to showcase not only athletic excellence but also the nation’s ability to manage high-profile global events securely and efficiently.
