Shannen Doherty’s long-time residence in Malibu, California, has officially been listed for sale, a year after the actress passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer.

The star of Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed, who died in July 2024 at the age of 53, purchased the coastal property two decades ago. Public records confirm that she acquired the house in 2004 for $2.56 million. The estate, now on the market for $9.45 million, was confirmed for sale on Monday by listing agent Chris Cortazzo.

Situated between the iconic Malibu Pier and the upscale Point Dume area, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom property includes spacious guest accommodation and an outdoor entertainment area. Known for its peaceful ambience and scenic surroundings, Cortazzo, who was also a close friend of Doherty’s, described the home as her “sanctuary.”

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Cortazzo shared fond memories of Doherty’s hosting style, saying, “We had Italian night every week at her house, and dancing night.” He added that the actress often brought together a “very close, intimate circle of friends” to enjoy the property’s welcoming environment.

The home underwent several upgrades during Doherty’s ownership, with a focus on creating light-filled spaces and maximising the view of the gardens and pool area. One key design element is a rustic pergola that offers shade while allowing for full enjoyment of the lush outdoor setting.

Proceeds from the sale will go directly to Doherty’s estate, ensuring her legacy is preserved and her assets managed according to her wishes. While no further public details about the estate’s future plans were disclosed, the decision to sell the home highlights the continuing interest in high-end real estate across the Southern California coastline.

Doherty, best known for her roles in 1990s television hits, was widely admired not just for her acting but also for her candidness during her illness and her commitment to maintaining close personal relationships.
