Kanye West’s Former Hidden Hills Property Rebuilt into $17M Luxury Estate

A once modest property in Hidden Hills, California, formerly owned by rapper Kanye West, has undergone a dramatic redevelopment and is now poised to hit the market for just under $17 million. The new estate, “Three Planes,” is a striking contrast to the original ranch-style home West purchased in 2021.

The site, located next to Kim Kardashian’s $60 million mansion, was acquired by West for $4.5 million. Reports at the time suggested he bought the home to remain near his children, but he never moved in. In 2023, he sold the property for $4.25 million to H2 Development, a Calabasas-based company specializing in upscale projects.

Following the purchase, H2 Development tore down the original 3,200-square-foot house and began a complete reconstruction. They partnered with Los Angeles designer Jae Omar to craft a unique, modern estate that reflects the land’s cultural and spiritual heritage. Omar, who has designed homes for high-profile clients, including NFL coach Sean McVay and musicians DJ Zedd and Meghan Trainor, turned to the area’s indigenous history for inspiration.

Specifically, Omar drew from the Chumash people, a Native American tribe native to Southern California. The result is a distinctive 11,000-square-foot residence built around the concept of the Chumash cosmology, representing the three realms of sky, earth, and underworld.

“I wanted to create a space where you could feel all three at once, and move between them with intention,” Omar said in a statement. “Every material, every line, every shadow was chosen to honor the Chumash belief in transformation and transcendence.”

The property features Shou Sugi Ban siding, locally sourced Santa Barbara stone, and hand-applied plaster. Its low-profile silhouette maintains the classic ranch-style look common to the equestrian-focused Hidden Hills community, while the interiors embrace an organic modern aesthetic.

Inside, the home offers five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. Key features include vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, white oak floors, sandstone elements, and calming earth-toned finishes. The main floor houses a spa-style primary suite with a sculptural soaking tub, steam shower, and sauna. Four additional ensuite bedrooms are located upstairs.

The estate also boasts a wellness wing, media room, yoga deck, and a wine cellar described in the listing materials as “the underworld.” The centerpiece is a custom-designed kitchen equipped with premium appliances, a breakfast area, and a walk-in pantry.

The over 1-acre lot continues the estate’s theme of nature and luxury with outdoor amenities such as a resort-style pool and spa, firepit, alfresco kitchen, and a detached horse stable. The inclusion of equestrian facilities is a nod to Hidden Hills’ longstanding identity as a haven for horse lovers, setting this new build apart in a market where such amenities are increasingly rare.

“This community has always been about privacy and prestige. Now, it’s also becoming a canvas for architectural storytelling,” said Omar.

The estate is located at 24877 Eldorado Meadow and is listed by Veronika Khomyn of The Agency. The home is expected to be officially available later this month.

As for Omar, “Three Planes” is one of several upcoming creative projects. His latest venture, “Five Fathoms” in the Hollywood Hills, draws inspiration from Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.” But for Hidden Hills, he said the vision was rooted more deeply in the land itself.

“My goal is to redefine what it means to live well within the Hidden Hills community,” he told The Post. “Alongside H2 Development, we’re not just constructing speculative homes, we’re curating homes that hold a soul, a story, a spirit, and reflect the extraordinary community.”
