BAE Systems Develops Rapid Capability Kits to Enhance U.S. Army Armored Vehicles

BAE Systems is advancing the U.S. Army’s Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) program by developing rapid capability kits designed to improve the vehicle’s adaptability and mission effectiveness. These kits aim to equip soldiers with swiftly deployable technologies to counter emerging battlefield threats and enhance operational readiness.

The AMPV serves as a crucial element in the Army’s modernization strategy, replacing older vehicles with a platform capable of supporting a variety of mission-specific systems. Recent prototypes demonstrate the vehicle’s versatility, including integrations of a modular turreted mortar and a 30mm unmanned turret.
