Federal immigration officials have released new video footage of a recent enforcement operation at a Nebraska meatpacking facility, where over 70 individuals were detained, and one person allegedly assaulted federal officers.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a nine-minute edited video on Thursday showing scenes from Tuesday’s large-scale raid at Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha. The company, known for producing ready-to-grill steak products, became the center of a federal operation that ICE says is the largest in Nebraska so far this year. According to authorities, the individuals taken into custody were in the country illegally, with several already having deportation histories or active local warrants.

The video opens with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, a division within ICE, entering the Glenn Valley Foods building. Officers are seen locating individuals inside, including some hiding in storage areas, and escorting employees to a central holding room. Once gathered, agents began taking digital fingerprints and verifying identification documents.

Outside, the operation continued as agents zip-tied workers’ hands, confiscated belongings, and loaded detainees onto buses bound for a detention center. The footage also captured processing scenes inside the facility, where officers conducted searches, shackled detainees’ legs, and held them in secured rooms.

ICE confirmed that more than 70 people were detained. While most face immigration-related proceedings, some may also face additional federal charges. The most serious case involved an individual who, according to ICE, brandished a weapon and assaulted federal officers during the raid. That person is now in federal custody awaiting charges.

Company Cleared

Importantly, ICE emphasized that Glenn Valley Foods is not under investigation. The company was found to be fully compliant with the E-Verify system, a federal tool employers use to confirm workers’ legal status. ICE described the business as a victim of identity fraud, with some employees using falsified documents to gain employment.

“Glenn Valley Foods followed the law and used every tool available to verify their workers,” said an ICE spokesperson. “This operation was not about the company; it was about individuals violating federal law and putting others at risk.”

The raid has sparked strong reactions in Omaha, where protestors gathered outside the facility shortly after news of the detainments broke. Activists called for ICE to provide more information and questioned the agency’s tactics. Several local organizations said they were working to support families impacted by the arrests and to offer legal assistance.

At the same time, others voiced support for the operation, pointing to the reported assault on agents as a reminder of the dangers law enforcement may face. “This wasn’t just about paperwork. Someone pulled a weapon on federal officers,” said one resident, who spoke in favor of the agency’s actions.

ICE has not released the names of the individuals detained, citing ongoing investigations. The operation video is available on ICE’s official website for public viewing.
