Police have recently confirmed that unreleased music and confidential tour materials belonging to Beyoncé were stolen from her choreographer’s car in Atlanta just days before her scheduled concert stop in the city.

The theft occurred on July 8, 2025, in a parking deck near Krog Street Market, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue had left their rental Jeep Wagoneer parked for about an hour. When they returned, they found the back window shattered and several high-value items missing, including five USB drives containing unreleased, watermarked music and exclusive tour files.

Authorities believe the items were deliberately targeted, suggesting the incident was more than a random vehicle break-in. In addition to the music drives, thieves also took a MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air, AirPods, and two suitcases filled with clothes and accessories. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a suspect at the scene, and two sets of fingerprints were recovered from the vehicle.

The suspect is believed to have fled in a red 2025 Hyundai Elantra with Georgia license plates. While police have obtained an arrest warrant, the identity of the suspect has not yet been released.

The stolen drives reportedly included performance footage, setlists for Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour, and other confidential creative content. With the tour entering its final stretch, set to conclude on July 26 in Paradise, Nevada, the breach has raised concerns about backstage security and the protection of intellectual property in high-profile productions.

“It’s unthinkable,” said Osman Bangura, studio manager at Atlanta’s Patchwerk Recording Studios. “To lose that level of creative material is devastating—not just for Beyoncé, but for the entire team of people who make the show happen.”

Security Concerns

Before police made the confirmation, rumors about the theft had stirred heated discussion online, with fans questioning how such sensitive material ended up in an unsecured vehicle. Some worried about potential leaks, while others joked it might be the only way fans would ever get visuals for Beyoncé’s Renaissance or Cowboy Carter eras.

Despite the incident, Beyoncé went on with her July 10 performance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium without any apparent disruptions. She has not addressed the theft publicly, but her team is said to be fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

As law enforcement continues its search for the stolen material and suspect, the incident has cast a spotlight on the growing risks entertainers face in the digital age, where even a single stolen drive can derail months of tightly guarded creative work.
