LeBron James’ longtime agent, Rich Paul, has stepped in to temper swirling trade rumors linking the NBA superstar to a possible move away from the Los Angeles Lakers. In a recent interview, Paul dismissed the speculation, instead spotlighting LeBron’s happiness, his offseason focus, and the noise surrounding today’s media landscape.

The conversation around James’ future reignited after he made an appearance at the National Basketball Association (NBA) Summer League in Las Vegas, where he opted not to speak publicly on the trade rumors. However, Rich Paul, chief executive officer of Klutch Sports Group, addressed the growing media buzz during an interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“There’s so many voices in today’s game and around today’s game and media and things like that. And everyone has a job to do,” Paul explained. “For us, let those people do their job. It’s not for us to rebut or to try to give clarity on what’s said or what’s not said.”

Paul quickly redirects the narrative away from the speculation, emphasizing that he and LeBron are focused on their respective responsibilities. “That’s not the focus,” he continued. “Focus is, enjoy your summer. I wear a lot of different hats, so I’ve got a lot of things on my plate that I’m doing. I’m in the office every day and working hard every day. That’s my focus.”

Meanwhile, LeBron has already opted into his $52.6 million player option for the 2025 to 2026 NBA season, a move that signals commitment for the short term, even as questions about the long term remain.
