Musk Cuts MAGA Ties Over Epstein Files Cover-Up Fury

Elon Musk has publicly cut ties with several top allies of President Donald Trump, marking a dramatic escalation in his growing feud with the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement. The billionaire entrepreneur took the unusual step of unfollowing top Trump supporters on his social media platform, X, after accusing them of hiding critical information about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.

For weeks, Musk has expressed anger over what he calls a “cover-up” of Epstein’s client list. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who once claimed the list was “sitting on her desk,” has since reversed her statements, saying no such list exists. This reversal appears to have been the final straw for Musk. He unfollowed Bondi and even Fox News, which recently featured Bondi defending the investigation’s findings.

Musk also severed ties with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Congresswoman Nancy Mace, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and other high-profile figures within Trump’s inner circle. He openly accused the administration of failing to hold Epstein’s network accountable because it wanted to protect powerful individuals.

Adding to the tension, Musk previously claimed Trump himself was named in the Epstein files, a statement he later deleted and apologized for. But even after walking back that accusation, he has continued to question whether there was a deliberate effort to conceal the truth from the public.

The timing is notable: last week, Trump’s proposed $3.3 trillion “Big Beautiful Bill” passed Congress. Musk described the legislation as an “abomination” that would destroy jobs and hurt the U.S. economy. His criticism of the bill further fueled the rift between him and Trump’s Republican allies.

Trump and his team have tried to downplay Musk’s outbursts. The president reportedly dismissed questions about Epstein during a Cabinet meeting, mocking reporters for bringing it up. Meanwhile, Trump’s Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, reflected on Musk’s once-close relationship with Trump, describing it as a father-son dynamic that ended badly.

Now, Musk is vowing to launch the America Party, a new political movement intended to challenge both Republicans and Democrats in upcoming elections. As the divide widens, it’s clear that Musk’s break with the MAGA world is both personal and political and far from over.
