XTEND Reality Opens Advanced Drone Facility in Tampa to Strengthen U.S. Security and Create Jobs

TAMPA, Fla., July 2, 2025 – XTEND Reality Inc., a global leader in autonomous drone technology, has officially opened its new U.S. headquarters and production facility in Tampa. This major investment is set to boost America’s domestic drone manufacturing and bring hundreds of high-tech jobs to Florida.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew federal officials, military representatives, and local leaders, all highlighting the importance of this project for national security and economic growth.

“This facility is more than a building, it is a commitment to American innovation and security,” said Aviv Shapira, XTEND’s CEO and co-founder. “We are excited to grow our operations here and deliver advanced drone systems that protect lives and support critical missions.”

The 85,000-square-foot complex will produce XTEND’s next-generation drones, which combine autonomous flight capabilities with human control. These drones are already used by U.S. and allied forces for missions such as intelligence gathering, tactical resupply, and explosive ordnance disposal.

Strengthening U.S. Defense Capabilities

The facility opens as the U.S. government increases efforts to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers for drone technology. Officials say domestic production is key to keeping supply chains secure and maintaining technological leadership.

“XTEND’s investment is exactly what we need to protect our national interests,” said a Department of Defense official. “These advanced drones give our military new capabilities to respond to threats quickly and effectively.”

Driving Economic Growth in Tampa

XTEND’s expansion is expected to create more than 250 skilled jobs in engineering, manufacturing, and operations. The company plans to hire additional staff as production ramps up in the coming year.

Local leaders praised the move as a major milestone for Tampa’s growing technology sector.

“This is an important moment for our city,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “XTEND’s presence means more good jobs and more opportunities for our community to thrive.”

The company plans to begin full-scale manufacturing by late 2025 and continue expanding in 2026. As drone technology becomes more essential to defense and public safety, XTEND’s new facility positions Tampa as a leader in the future of aerospace innovation.
