Police Hunt Suspect in Las Vegas Headquarters Fire Investigation

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection with a fire outside its main headquarters over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, August 9, when an LVMPD employee noticed flames along the west property wall of the headquarters at 400 South Martin L. King Boulevard. Firefighters from the Las Vegas Fire Department arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze before it could cause injuries or damage to the building.

Investigators have described the suspect as a Black male between 25 and 35 years old. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black and white shirt, black pants, and black shoes.

According to detectives, the man was seen walking north through the south parking lot of the headquarters before entering the landscaped area along the west wall. This wall separates the police facility from an adjacent apartment complex. Authorities believe he used an unknown object to set fire to the foliage before jumping over the wall into the apartment complex.
