The handwritten note, addressed to Owens as “Clark Kent knockoff,” referenced the recent news coverage and criticised his vision for using AI in real estate. “A simple Google search goes a long way these days, especially in Vegas,” the letter read. “Saw your Marcus video, what a joke. ‘AI’ is not going to replace brokers.”

The author of the letter went on to argue that real estate had been built by brokers, not developers or tech entrepreneurs. The message concluded with the phrase, “Don’t get greedy because pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.”

In a public statement, Owens downplayed the physical threat but acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. “Perhaps this person watched too much of The Godfather,” he said, referring to the famous film scene involving a severed horse’s head. “Needless to say, I still take it very seriously, but I don’t feel like I’m being truly threatened. It was a message.”

Despite the threatening tone of the delivery, Owens expressed a desire not to retaliate or escalate the situation. “I don’t want to punch down on this person; they may be in a tough spot in life,” he said. “I see this as an opportunity to show people that you don’t become a better person by trying to make someone else smaller.”

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that an investigation is underway. Officers are reviewing surveillance footage from the area, interviewing potential witnesses, and examining the package for fingerprints or other forensic evidence.
