Ex-Girlfriend Urges Judge to Grant Bail for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Amid Ongoing Legal Battle

New York, NY – August 4, 2025 — Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former girlfriend, Virginia Huynh, has asked a federal judge to reconsider the hip-hop mogul’s detention status and allow his release on bond as he awaits sentencing. Her appeal comes just weeks after Combs was convicted on two federal charges related to interstate prostitution.

Huynh, previously identified in court documents only as “Victim-3,” publicly revealed her identity in a letter filed Sunday by Combs’ legal team. In the one-page submission to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, Huynh acknowledged a turbulent relationship with Combs but argued that he is no longer a threat to society and should be permitted to await sentencing outside of prison.

“I believe it is important for the Court to have a full picture of who he is beyond the allegations,” Huynh wrote. She described Combs as having made “visible efforts to become a better person” and stated that by the time their relationship ended, he “embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness.”

The 55-year-old music producer and entrepreneur was acquitted last month on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking by fraud or coercion but was convicted on two counts involving the transportation of individuals across state lines for prostitution. His sentencing is scheduled for October 3, and he faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

Despite being initially slated to testify, Huynh withdrew before the start of the seven-week trial. Prosecutors had previously noted difficulty in contacting her or her attorney as proceedings neared. Although Huynh did not take the stand, the jury heard from more than 30 witnesses, including two other women who had been in relationships with Combs: singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and another identified only as “Jane.”

Jurors were also shown security footage from a 2016 incident that allegedly captured Combs assaulting Ventura in a hotel hallway. Ventura’s testimony described multiple instances of abuse during their decade-long relationship.

In her letter, Huynh stated she does not view Combs as “a danger to me or to this community,” and emphasized the impact his incarceration is having on his children. “They depend on him for emotional and financial support,” she wrote, adding that his presence at home would “support the healing process for all involved.”

Judge Subramanian previously denied Combs’ request for bail, citing concerns over community safety. Federal prosecutors have not publicly responded to Huynh’s letter. Nicholas Biase, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, declined to comment.

Combs has consistently maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges. With sentencing looming, his legal team is expected to renew efforts to secure his release pending final judgment.
