Trump Calls on Netanyahu to Allow Urgent Food Aid into Gaza

President Donald Trump has publicly urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ensure that food and medical supplies reach civilians in Gaza, as the humanitarian crisis in the region grows more severe. Speaking during a press event in Scotland alongside UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump made clear that the situation in Gaza has become intolerable and called for immediate action.

“I want him to make sure they get the food,” Trump said, referring to Netanyahu. His remarks come amid disturbing reports of widespread hunger and malnutrition among Gaza’s population, with particular concern for children suffering from starvation. Trump added that the United States is ready to help set up food distribution centers in the region and will provide financial support to get them running. On the other hand, Prime Minister Starmer urged both Israel and Hamas to allow aid to flow freely. The situation, he said, has reached a moral breaking point.

The Gaza Strip has faced severe restrictions on aid deliveries since March, with Israel enforcing a tight blockade in response to ongoing conflict with the militant group Hamas. While Israel argues the measures are necessary for security, aid groups and international organizations warn that the blockade is crippling humanitarian access and putting millions of lives at risk.

Trump noted that he had previously spoken to Netanyahu privately about the situation, urging him to open more channels for food and medicine. “Those people are suffering,” Trump said. “There’s a very big need for food and medicine, and we’re taking care of it.”

Global pressure is mounting. The United Nations World Food Programme has reported that its supplies in Gaza have been exhausted. Humanitarian workers on the ground say that the limited aid being allowed through barely scratches the surface of what is required. In many areas, families are surviving on one meal a day or less.

With tensions high and suffering deepening, Trump’s message is unmistakable: the time for excuses has passed. The food must get in.
