Former tennis world champion Maria Sharapova is parting ways with her lavish Los Angeles estate, listing the five-bedroom coastal property for a staggering $25 million. Built in 2015, the modern home includes rare luxury amenities such as a private two-lane bowling alley, a media lounge, and sweeping ocean views, a reflection of the glamorous lifestyle the athlete embraced following her retirement.

Sharapova, now 38, rose to global fame in 2004 when she stunned Serena Williams to win Wimbledon at just 17. Her career flourished from there, earning her five Grand Slam titles including the US Open in 2006, the Australian Open in 2008, and back-to-back French Open victories in 2012 and 2014. She is among only ten women in tennis history to complete a Career Grand Slam, winning all four major tournaments.

Currently engaged to British businessman Alexander Gilkes, Sharapova is looking to spend more time in Europe and focus on family life. The couple resides in the Manhattan Beach area but is looking to cash in on the growing value of their custom-built California home, which Sharapova reportedly purchased for $4.1 million over ten years ago.

Designed by the well-regarded firm KAA Design, the home reflects a refined mix of luxury and comfort. In a video published by Architectural Digest six years ago, Sharapova walked viewers through her serene and minimalist space. The open-plan layout is adorned with curated artwork, modern finishes, and oversized windows that allow natural light to flood in and frame the scenic Pacific Ocean.

A key feature that sets the home apart is its in-house bowling alley, which includes two regulation lanes and a lounge for spectators or guests. According to the Wall Street Journal, this unique addition has been a favorite for entertaining, allowing for a laid-back but upscale setting where guests can relax and play.

The outdoor space offers just as much appeal, with a sleek swimming pool, lush greenery for privacy, and shaded seating ideal for year-round gatherings. A built-in bench near the water’s edge became one of Sharapova’s favorite reading spots, she noted in her tour.

Inside, each bathroom features deep standalone bathtubs and dual vanities, while the living areas showcase built-in entertainment features, including a flat-screen TV and cleverly integrated storage. One corner of the home has been transformed into a tranquil nook, perfect for enjoying a book or glass of wine while watching the sunset over Los Angeles.

While it’s unclear whether Sharapova and Gilkes still reside in the property full-time, reports indicate they also reside in Florida. The dual-property setup allows them to spend time both in the United States and abroad.

As Sharapova shifts gears from professional sports to personal ventures and family life, the sale of this estate marks the end of an era, but perhaps the beginning of a new chapter outside California’s celebrity circuit.
